This itinerary follows the same three-park circuit as our 4-day safari — Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro — but adds a full extra day entirely within the Serengeti. Instead of one region covered in a single day, the route splits into two: typically the southern and central plains around Seronera on the first day, then either the western corridor toward Grumeti or the northern reaches toward the Mara River on the second, depending on where wildlife activity is concentrated during your travel dates.
That extra day is genuinely the highest-value addition to this itinerary. The Serengeti is vast — over 14,700 square kilometres — and a single day only ever scratches the surface of one corner of it. A second day, especially one your guide can adjust based on real-time wildlife reports, meaningfully improves both the variety of sightings and, depending on season, your odds around migration activity.
