A 3-day Tanzania safari has room for one more park than our 2-day itinerary, and Lake Manyara is the natural addition — it sits almost directly on the road between Tarangire and the Ngorongoro highlands, so adding it costs very little extra transfer time while genuinely broadening what you see.
Day one is spent entirely inside Tarangire, home to Tanzania's largest elephant herds. Day two opens with a morning game drive through Manyara's forest, woodland, and lake-shore habitats — famous for its tree-climbing lions — before continuing to the Ngorongoro highlands for the night. Day three is a full day on the crater floor, one of the densest concentrations of wildlife anywhere in Africa, before the return transfer that evening.

The itinerary's high point. A descent road drops roughly 600 metres onto the crater floor, a sealed volcanic caldera holding one of the densest concentrations of wildlife anywhere in Africa — including a realistic chance of seeing black rhino, one of Tanzania's rarest sightings.
